Process!

It's been AGES. I recently scored CS5 from work and I really am loving the new brush features. It's been a long time since I've done a portrait of any kind... this one happens to be me. I worked from a photo (before you think I'm more awesome than I actually am) just to try out how the program works. I miss painting things...

Portrait

BAM! Action shot. It's missing a few frames... SOME websites don't like more than 10 images.
I am much to lazy to make one in photoshop.

This is awesome!
What can you tell me about the brushes you used? I need as much help as possible in learning to do this.

@ Scott... I just used the standard issue CS5 flat brushes with transfer turned on and set to pressure. My process is shadow side, mid tones, refine edges, color variations in both sides, darkest darks, bounce and reflected light, highlights and final details.

There is a great little tutorial by Diasuke that might help. Its basics. I recently had to re-remember them! http://www.simplestroke.com/wp/?page_id=11

Try it!

This is so cool. Nice self portrait. I haven't been brave enough to do one of myself.
